Ask Gemini what is broken on your site
Connect Harvv to Gemini as a custom remote MCP connector. Paste one URL, sign in, and Gemini reads your live friction findings, dead clicks, rage clicks, broken forms, right in the chat.
Confirm you are on Google AI Ultra
Custom connectors live in Gemini Spark, which is part of the Google AI Ultra plan, on a personal Google account (not a work or school account). If you are on Free or Pro, the option in the next step will not be there.
Open Connected Apps
On desktop at gemini.google.com:
- Open Settings & help, then Connected Apps (or go straight to
gemini.google.com/apps). - Switch to the Other tab and scroll to the bottom.
- Select Add a custom app.
Paste the Harvv server URL
- Enter the MCP server URL:
https://harvv.com/mcp - Authentication is automatic. Harvv supports Dynamic Client Registration, so you do not paste a client ID or secret. Only if a client cannot do DCR would you open Advanced and enter them by hand.
- Click Next.
Sign in to Harvv
Gemini opens a Harvv sign-in window. Sign in and approve, that is the whole authorization. No token to copy. The connector is now scoped to your account and its sites.
Ask Gemini
Turn the Harvv app on and ask in plain language, for example "Use Harvv to show the top friction on my site this week." If your account has more than one site, name the site (or ask "list my Harvv sites" first), Gemini then stays scoped to that store for the conversation.
Common questions
Why does this need Google AI Ultra?
Adding your own remote MCP connector by URL landed in the consumer Gemini app in mid-2026, but Google gated it behind Gemini Spark, which is part of the Google AI Ultra plan. On the Free and Pro plans the "Add a custom app" option does not appear in Connected Apps. This is a Google restriction, not a Harvv one.
I am on Gemini Pro or Free. Can I still connect?
Not in the consumer Gemini app yet, the custom-app option is Ultra-only there. Two things that work today on any plan: connect the same Harvv MCP to ChatGPT (paid ChatGPT plans, see /install/chatgpt) or to Claude (/install/claude). Same server, same data. Gemini custom connectors on Pro may open up over time.
Do I have to copy a token or client secret?
No. The Harvv MCP supports Dynamic Client Registration, so when you paste the server URL Gemini handles OAuth automatically. You just sign in with Harvv and approve. Only if a client cannot do DCR would you open Advanced and enter a client ID and secret by hand.
Is it safe? Gemini warns about third-party MCP servers.
That warning is generic, Google shows it for any MCP server it does not run itself. The Harvv connector is scoped to your own account, signs you in with OAuth, and returns read-only findings only: top friction ranked by sessions affected, counts, and worst-hit pages. No raw event streams, no individual sessions, no PII.
I manage several sites. How does Gemini know which one?
The connector is scoped to your whole Harvv account. If it has more than one site, name the site in your prompt (ask "list my Harvv sites" first, then "traffic for example.com"). Ask without naming one and Harvv answers for your first site and tells you it did, so multi-store numbers are never silently mixed up.
